FLoC runs on the Chrome browser end. It<strong>&#xA0;analyzes user behavior locally<\/strong>, meaning no online or connected entity is used to track your behavior. Once your data is analyzed, it is<strong> grouped with the data sets of users<\/strong> with similar behavior and tastes, forming a &#8220;cohort&#8221; of user datasets.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the cohort dataset is provided to websites. This ensures that data is not collected individually but as a group. Several individuals and notable organizations, like the EFF &#8211; Electronic Frontier Foundation, have expressed their concerns. And like everything today, the Google Privacy Sandbox has received its fair share of backlash.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fingerprinting is a process where tracking services uniquely identify your device through a few metrics. FLoC provides fingerprinting agents a headstart. To start with, it already has a group of devices with similar data. And instead of identifying your browser from millions of other browsers, it identifies your browser from a much smaller and already defined group (cohort).
