Delete Chrome History for a Specific Website or Keyword
On Desktop
Earlier, it was impossible to delete the browsing history for a certain word or website in Chrome. But now Google has added the support for selecting the history of a selecting word and website. Follow the below steps, and you will be able to delete specific browsing history on your Windows or Mac computer.
Step 1: Type chrome://history/ in the address bar and hit enter. It will open the complete browsing history of your Chrome.
Step 2: You will get a Search History field at the top.
Step 3: Enter the word you want to remove from your browsing history. Let’s suppose you want to remove all the history having a particular word. Entering a word in the search box will filter all browsing history and you will see only the webpages having data in their title or URL.
Step 4: Press CTRL + A on Windows or Command + A on Mac, and it will select all the filtered history. Then tap on the Delete option. Now that specific word will be cleared from your browsing history.
Step 5: Similarly if you want to clear browsing history from a specific website. Enter the URL of that website in the search bar.
Step 6: Follow the same step press CTRL+A or CMD+A depending on the computer you have, and all the history of that website will be selected. Click on the Delete option, and the history will be cleared.
On Android
Step 1: Open Chrome and tap the three-dot-menu in the top right corner.
Step 2: Tap on History.
Step 3: You will see all your history and a search bar on the top.
Step 4: Tap on the search bar and enter the word you want to remove from the browsing history.
Step 5: Select the results by pressing on them. and then click on Delete icon.
Step 6: In case you want to delete the browsing history of a specific website. Enter the URL of the website.
Step 7: Select the results and tap on Delete icon.
On iOS
Step 1: Either go to history directly from the Chrome startup page or tap on the three-dot menu in the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Tap on History option.
Step 3: You will see all your browsing history along with a search box.
Step 4: Enter the word you want to remove all the history related to that. When you see the filtered history tap on the Edit option.
Step 5: Select all the results and tap Delete.
Step 6: To remove the history of a specific website. Type the URL of that website in the search bar and once you see the results, tap Edit.
Step 7: Select all the filtered results of that specific website and tap enter. It will clear all the browsing history of that website.
